Coming Soon: Workbook Practice Module

We are pleased to share an update on the latest developments to our A Course in Miracles CE App and our plans to bring you a functional Workbook Practice module for 2024.

As well as offering the ability to read, search, and listen to the Complete and Annotated Edition (CE) of ACIM, it has always been our intention that the CE App would become a portable practice partner for those following the path of the Course. 

Anyone familiar with the Workbook will know that practising the Course, as it is written, involves various different aspects:

• Morning and evening quiet time
• Hourly remembrance (of the day’s lesson)
• Frequent reminders (of the idea for the day) 
• Response to temptation (when your sense of peace is disturbed)

This practice is built up gradually, which means that the daily instructions differ and by the latter part of the Workbook are assumed rather than being overtly stated with each lesson. It is clear that the majority of students benefit from the daily instructions being specified and made clear, and so this is something we are bringing to the app! 

Peter has been working on this module for some time now - it’s quite complicated. But we are hoping to have the first aspect (which we are calling ‘phase 1’) ready for the new year. If you’ll be practising the Workbook in January 2024, this will include: 

• Keeping track of your current lesson in the Workbook Practice module
• Each lesson will display a reading list, and list of practices for the day
• A reminder will prompt you to move onto the next lesson when a new day begins
• Your lesson will also be displayed on your personalised Home screen whenever you are logged in

After phase 1 is released, we will be working on phase 2 - the notifications! This is the most complex aspect of the entire project as (1) there are so many of them, (2) they need to work seamlessly on iOS and Android mobile devices, and (3) they need to be customisable by each user. Extensive testing will be required to ensure they function properly. (There’s a good reason none of the ACIM apps on the market have this level of functionality already!)
