Beta testing is live!

I'm delighted to announce that we have invited all who supported/donated* to the ACIM CE App to take part in the Beta testing phase. Although the Beta version of the app is still in development and doesn’t yet have all the functionality we are working towards - or even look the way it will when it's finished - it already offers a lot for the testers to try out. Here’s a summary of what they are able to do:

• Read the Complete and Annotated Edition of A Course in Miracles (CE) in its entirety, directly from a mobile device (phone or tablet)
• Perform ‘quick’ or ‘advanced’ searches of the Course itself, of the supplementary material (cameos etc), or of the entire CE
• Filter search results by chronology (where they appear in the book) or by relevance
• Listen to each of the Workbook Lessons
• Add highlights and notes
• Create and assign different highlight colours for different themes/topics
• Create multiple tabs, which act as ‘moving bookmarks’ while progressing through the Course
• Sync tabs across multiple devices (e.g. your phone and tablet) by creating an account
• Share quotes which automatically include the CE reference

This is a major milestone in the project, and we are hoping the larger testing group will help us to identify and fix any bugs that were missed during our internal testing, as well as giving us a better indication of the way people are likely to use the app in support of their study and practice of A Course in Miracles.

In the meantime, as well as developing and fixing bugs on the Beta, Peter is working on the Workbook notification module. This is by far the most complex aspect of the project and will take some time to complete and perfect. In order to have notifications function in a way that reflects the Workbook instructions, it will be included in a later release of the app. We look forward to sharing more about that in future updates.
